I'm proud to announce the next Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) endorsement for
Don Stenberg who is running for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska against Democrat incumbent U.S. Senator Ben Nelson, the author of the infamous Cornhusker Kickback.
We have thoroughly evaluated each of the candidates in this race and we've waited patiently to see which one would emerge as the true conservative standout. Over the past several months Don Stenberg has won the support of Tea Party and conservative groups in Nebraska, as well as endorsements from national grassroots leaders like FreedomWorks, RedState.com editor Erick Erickson, conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin, and U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). It's now clear that the conservative movement has lined up behind Don Stenberg, and for good reason.

Don Stenberg is a lifelong conservative with the principles, integrity, and courage needed to stand up to the big spenders in both political parties in Washington.Don Stenberg supports all of the SCF policy goals. He backs a strong constitutional amendment to force Congress to balance the budget, robust domestic energy exploration, and the full repeal of ObamaCare. Stenberg opposes earmarks, corporate bailouts, and amnesty for illegal immigrants, and he is 100% pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-Second Amendment.
Like Josh Mandel in Ohio and Ted Cruz in Texas, Stenberg is a true conservative leader who will fight for the principles of freedom that make America great.

About this time two years ago, Democrat incumbent Ben Nelson was working behind closed doors to exchange his vote on ObamaCare for the Cornhusker Kickback. And just one year ago, Ben Nelson was vigorously defending pork-barrel spending as Senate conservatives were forcing Republicans to swear off earmarks.
Ben Nelson is part of the problem in Washington. It's critical that freedom-loving Americans work together to replace him with a proven conservative who will fight to repeal the government takeover of our nation's healthcare system. ObamaCare will not only bankrupt our country, it will take away the freedom to make our own healthcare decisions.
Don Stenberg is not only the strongest conservative in the race, but we also believe he's the most electable. Recent polling shows Stenberg holding a consistent lead over Nelson while the other Republican candidates are fading. This isn't surprising. Stenberg has served the people of Nebraska with distinction as their Attorney General (1991-2003) and now as their State Treasurer (2011-present). They know where he stands and they know they can count on him to do what he says he'll do.
The biggest challenge for Stenberg is fundraising. The one complaint I hear most about him from the DC political class is that he can't raise money. This, of course, should be expected. He's a grassroots candidate and doesn't have national fundraising connections like establishment candidates.

Next Tuesday is the one-year anniversary of the day Senate conservatives banned earmarks so it's a fitting deadline for a fundraising campaign that will help defeat the author and defender of the Cornhusker Kickback.
