Scott Brown Will Oppose ObamaCare
On Tuesday, January 19 — exactly one week from tonight — the polls will close in the Massachusetts special election to replace the late Senator Ted Kennedy. The race to fill this open seat, which has become competitive in the final days, is between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown.
SCF has not endorsed Scott Brown because he does not meet all of our criteria. However, we believe his candidacy presents conservatives across the country with a significant opportunity.
Scott Brown has made it clear that he will oppose ObamaCare. This means that if he wins next week, Democrats will not have the 60 votes necessary to pass the health care bill. This would be a major victory for the principles of freedom.
Scott Brown is not 100% pro-life, but he will cast the deciding vote against the most anti-life legislation in American history. This is something that every pro-life conservative should be aware of in deciding whether to help his campaign.
This race is close and it can be won. In fact, a poll released today by Rasmussen Reports shows Scott Brown within
2 percentage points of Martha Coakley.
Democrats are panicking. Scott Brown, an anti-ObamaCare Republican, could win Ted Kennedy's seat and be the deciding vote against their massive health care takeover.
