SCF Endorses Marlin Stutzman for U.S. Senate in Indiana

Senator says Stutzman is "the conservative outsider" who will "take on the Washington establishment"
Alexandria, VA — Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), chairman of the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), endorsed Marlin Stutzman for U.S. Senate in Indiana. Stutzman is fourth-generation family farmer and conservative state senator who is rapidly gaining momentum in last few weeks of the race. Stutzman is running in a crowded field that includes former Senator Dan Coats and former Congressman John Hostettler. The Republican primary is May 4.

"Marlin Stutzman is the conservative outsider in the Indiana Senate race who will take on the Washington establishment," said Senator DeMint. "Marlin Stutzman is exactly the kind of leader Americans are looking for this year. He's young, he's principled, and he's ready to take the fight to Washington. Marlin Stutzman reminds me of Marco Rubio in Florida. He has the same passion, the same love for his country, and the same courage to fight for it."

Senator DeMint's endorsement comes on the same day the Stutzman campaign begins airing its first network television ad. It also comes just one day after David Keene, Chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU), endorsed Stutzman.

"I'm very excited about what's taking place in Indiana right now," said Senator DeMint. "We've got a young conservative running for the Senate who could pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year. He's surging because he's an authentic conservative who doesn't apologize for his principles."
