DeMint Statement on Washington Senate Race
Alexandria, VA - Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), chairman of the Senate Conservatives Fund, made the following statement regarding Dino Rossi's victory in the "top two" primary in Washington State.

"I want to congratulate Dino Rossi on his victory tonight," said Senator DeMint. "Dino has once again demonstrated his strength as a candidate and a leader.

"Now it's time for Republicans, Independents, and common sense Democrats to unite behind Dino so he can win in November. If he is elected, he will stand up to the big spenders in both parties and help us take our country back.

"Senator Murray is part of the problem in Washington. She's addicted to pork-barrel spending and she's a rubber stamp for the liberal policies that have buried our nation under a mountain of debt. Senator Murray buckled under pressure from Wall Street interests and supported the massive bank bailout that rewarded failure and punished success. Voters in Washington State now realize that if we're every going to balance the budget and restore America's greatness, we're going to have to replace Patty Murray.

"I want to thank the thousands of grassroots conservatives in Washington State and around the country who worked so hard to make this possible."

The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) is a political action committee dedicated to electing true conservatives to the U.S. Senate. SCF backs underdog candidates who are overlooked or even opposed by the Washington establishment.

Besides Dino Rossi, SCF is also supporting Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania, Marco Rubio in Florida, Ken Buck in Colorado, Rand Paul in Kentucky, Mike Lee in Utah, Sharron Angle in Nevada, and Ron Johnson in Wisconsin. SCF is actively raising support for these candidates at SenateConservatives.com.
